What Do I Really Burn For?
Updated: Jan 10, 2020
There are lots of things. I fancy this, that, and I enjoy so many other things. The list of hobbies is infinite. But wait…. What am I passionate about, what do I really burn for?
I don't know. Do you?
I am an advocate of the practical learning approach. I prefer learning by doing rather than sticking my nose into tons of books. Nevertheless, I went to university and received a degree.
But it was outside the classroom, where I learnt the most valuable lessons. Teamwork, communication and presentation skills just being a few of them.
Living and studying abroad, experiencing various cultures, problem-solving and learning languages while being exposed to an immersive load of creative input was the greatest school of all.
It made me wonder. Have I found my passion?
And how can I use this in a professional way?
Because I truly love writing and marketing, I took the first opportunity that presented itself during a late night study session on my Facebook feed. If you are curious, what exactly had happened, you can check out this article I wrote (sorry, only in German!).
I realised the importance of a good work-life balance and having flexibility. I assume it to be of greater value than the pressure for earning money fast in a conventional career and living in one place.
Hence, I am working now as a freelancer from my laptop, location independent and often travelling. This is the right thing for me now.
I am happy with what I do. And I am happy with who I am.
I hope this blog, with its short personal stories, encourages you to also listen to your heart, follow your dreams, be less scared and find your passion.
